According to a roundup by PC Gamer, there is growing evidence that Rockstar’s classic title Red Dead Redemption 2 might receive a next-generation enhancement patch, possibly along with a port to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Insider NateTheHate claims that both the next-gen upgrade and a Switch 2 version are indeed in development. While no release date has been confirmed, with GTA 6 now delayed until 2026, this could become a timely announcement from Rockstar.

This is reportedly the second wave of rumors within 48 hours. Interestingly, Rockstar recently made changes to the Steam store page for Red Dead Redemption 2, removing long-standing awards mentions, which has fueled further speculation.

Rumors of a Switch 2 version with visual upgrades date back to January of this year. Actor(s) associated with John Marston have also hinted at having knowledge of “mysterious developments” they aren’t at liberty to share.

If true, Red Dead Redemption 2 could become another Rockstar title to get enhanced across all platforms, helping to fill the gap until GTA 6.
